Waitlist privacy notice

This covers the email address you give us on this website to hear when Topnote is out. If you use the app, the privacy policy covers that.

Who we are

Topnote is made by Sterling Goods Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 14253296), at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We decide what happens to your address. Write to privacy@topnoteshelf.app about anything here.

What we keep

• Your email address.
• Which form you used (the pop-up, the home page or the sign-up page), when, and which version of this notice it showed.
• A random code that lets the link in our email take you off the list.

Nothing else. We do not ask your name, and the address is not connected to a Topnote account, even if you have one.

What we use it for

To send you one email when Topnote is out on the App Store and Google Play. Not for a newsletter, not for advertising, and not for anything else unless we ask you first. We never sell or share it.

We rely on your consent, which you give by sending the form (UK GDPR article 6(1)(a)). You can take it back at any time, and that does not change anything we did before.

Who else handles it

• Vercel hosts this website. Your address passes through it on the way to our database, in London.
• Supabase keeps the list, in our database in London (AWS eu-west-2).
• Resend sends the email when Topnote is out. It receives your address and that email, and nothing else.

Vercel and Resend are US companies. Where your address is handled outside the UK, we rely on the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the company is certified under it, and otherwise on the Standard Contractual Clauses with the UK Addendum in its data processing agreement. Ask us for a copy of either.

How long we keep it

We delete the list within 30 days of sending the email. If Topnote is not out within 12 months of the day you signed up, we delete your address then, without emailing you.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it: write to privacy@topnoteshelf.app and we reply within one month. The link in our email takes you off the list straight away. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, though we would like the chance to put it right first.

Your browser

When you close the pop-up or send the form, your browser remembers it, so the site does not ask again. That one value stays in your browser’s storage and is never sent to us or anyone else. This website sets no cookies.

Age

Topnote is for people aged 16 and over, and so is this list.

Changes

If we change this notice, the new version is posted here with a new number. We will not use your address for anything new without asking you first.
